Softstyle uses ring spun cotton, where the fibres are twisted into a finer, smoother yarn before knitting. Against a standard open end cotton the difference is immediate in the hand. It is the reason this range exists as a step up from the basic Gildan lines without moving into premium pricing.
Why does Softstyle suit large orders?
When the count runs into the hundreds, the gap between a budget blank and a premium one multiplies fast. Softstyle is where a lot of larger orders land, because it holds a decent feel at a price that survives being multiplied by three hundred. For conferences, fun runs and large staff rollouts it is a sensible default.
How does Softstyle take a print?
The smoother yarn gives a cleaner print surface than a coarse blank, so screen printing sits flatter and edges stay sharper. Colours read true on lights. On darks you will need a white underbase, which is normal and applies to any dark cotton garment.
How is this different from Ultra Cotton?
Ultra Cotton is heavier and coarser. Softstyle is lighter and smoother. If you want substance, go heavier. If you want comfort and a better print surface, this is the one.
