Get a quoteWhy are tote bags such good value as merch?
Per unit, a printed tote gives you more visible brand exposure than almost anything else you can hand out. They are cheap enough to give away in volume and useful enough that people keep them rather than binning them on the way out.
How do you choose the right tote?
Lightweight calico suits high volume giveaways where cost per unit matters most. Heavier canvas feels substantially better in the hand and suits retail or anything you want treated as a product rather than a freebie. Long handles sit over the shoulder, short handles carry by hand.
How does artwork print on a tote?
Screen printing is the usual method and handles bold, flat colour beautifully. A single colour print on natural canvas is often the best looking option and the cheapest one at the same time.
Calico, cotton or canvas?
Calico is the lightest and cheapest, and it is the right answer for high volume giveaways where cost per unit is the deciding factor. Standard cotton is the middle ground and what most orders land on. Heavy canvas feels substantially better in the hand, holds its shape, and is what you want if the bag is being sold or given to clients rather than handed out at a gate.
Does handle length change how a tote gets used?
Long handles go over the shoulder, which means the bag gets used for shopping and commuting and your logo travels. Short handles are carried by hand and read more like a gift bag. For brand exposure, long handles win.
Gusseted or flat?
A gusset adds depth so the bag holds proper shopping rather than flattening out. It costs a little more and roughly doubles how often the bag actually gets used.
How many print colours can I have?
Screen printing is priced per colour, so a one or two colour design is the value sweet spot. A single colour print on natural canvas often looks the best of the lot and costs the least.
Can we do different designs in one order?
Yes, though each design is a separate setup. If you are running several, keeping them to the same bag and the same ink colours keeps the cost down.
