The jacket is the most expensive item in a uniform and the one that lasts longest, often several years. It is also what customers see all winter when every other layer is covered. It is the wrong place to save twenty dollars a unit.
Water resistant or waterproof?
Water resistant handles a shower. Waterproof handles a day in real rain and costs more. If your crew works through winter outdoors, the difference is worth paying for and is the most common regret we hear about.
Will embroidery affect waterproofing?
Stitching pierces the fabric, so on a rated shell it can. Backing minimises it and we keep logos to the chest. Tell us if the rating is critical.
Hi vis jacket or plain?
If it is worn on site, hi vis, since a plain jacket over hi vis defeats the purpose entirely.
